Can you say, boring day? Alyria woke up that morning as slow as possible, not on purpose, but because the night before was crazy. Her fellow Slytherin's and herself were really having an all nighter by just talking and laughing ... whatever else you could do in a full room of teen witches and wizards. But gratefully it was Saturday instead of a day with classes. Alyria sat up into her bed and stared in front of her toward the doorway to the main room of the common room. She groaned as she hesitated getting out of her warm, comfortable haven. Aly got her black skirt, her knee high socks, the horrid black shoes they had to wear, and her white blouse out of her trunk, changing into them, but adding a bit of a twist to the outfit to make it a bit more modern. She made the blouse fit her slim body by tying it in the back, Alyria also folded the skirt waistband to make it actually go above the knee. She hated their uniforms, but couldn't really do anything about it except for what she did now.
Alyria took a bundle of paper and a quill in her hands after doing her make-up and hair - having it in a cute messy bun. She decided that it would be a great time to just relax and do some writing of poems or even music, whatever she was inspired for at the time. Aly walked up the stairs to the entrance hall and out the large doors toward the Black Lake. She would always go there to just sit and think or to write. She strode to a large tree beside the waters edge that she always came to and fell her back against it, leaning against the trunk of the tree as she sat, watching the smooth ripples of the water from the breeze. Aly sighed as she took a piece of paper off of the top of the pile and tapped the quill against it, trying to get inspiration from things around her.
"Hm," She let out and then started to hum a song by The Starting Line called 21, trying to think of something.

Gabriel had the reputation around school as someone with whom you didn't want to spend too much private time around for those who did always ended up a bit worse off than when they started. It wasn't like he was publicly known for assaulting or harassing anyone, it was just that...well...bad things went on when he was involved. No one ever saw or witnessed him raising a finger or wand for that matter, but there just wasn't something right about him. Sure, he was as innocent looking as they came, but that was really what was wrong about him. He seemed a little too perfect and normal.....as if he wore the perfect porcelain mask to hide something much more sinister.
It was this reputation which left him generally to himself, as he was for the moment, but it was his family money and prestige which kept a tight social group within reach should he really need them. Being pureblood meant keeping a lot of ties to other families even if you despised them. Power attracted power, that was just a simple fact of life and one that was never more true as it was here in the wizarding world.
Dressed in a pair of black slacks and white button up shirt with a dark green tie, complete with black loafers and his school robes, Gabriel moved across the lawns of the school, watching the few students who happened to be out and about. Sure, it was Saturday and the school dress code wasn't in effect, but Gabriel wasn't ever one to dress down by any means. Every hair was in place and ever crease in his slacks was perfect, just as he had been raised to be. It wasn't as if he went out of his way to look like this, he just couldn't help it, it was in his blood.
The few students who were out, gave him a wide berth, something which made Gabe smile. He made eye contact with every one of them, showing them he missed nothing and that no one escaped his gaze. A small form of intimidation, but one that worked well enough....at least on the lesser students.
Nearing the lake, Gabriel caught sight of a small figure, and as he neared, the girl became more familiar. Alyria wasn't someone with whom he had associated with before, nothing outside of small talk in passing, but she was still a familiar face. The two shared the same house and while that bonded them in a way, it didn't mean they shared any traits or characteristics by any means. Of course, Gabe didn't let this stop him from making a bit of small talk. There wasn't really anything else going on at the moment and Alyria was a Slytherin, so how bad could it really be?
"I find its easier to let inspiration find you instead of the other way around," he said, giving a smile as he stopped just short of Alyria and the tree she rested against. Gabriel may have been an elitist pureblood, but he respected art and knowledge, no matter where or who it came from. He was a man of taste and while some purebloods let their pride get in the way of certain material, Gabriel did not.

Nothing came to her, in any way this wonderful day. Nothing about the water, trees, students. But then something caught her eye rapidly. The shimmer of the water from the shining sun. It had been right in front of her the whole time she sat thinking at the tree and she never realized its beauty. But what to write about? Should she use it as a figure of something else? Should she be literal? It would be a quite awkward lyric talking about shimmering water all throughout the song. Maybe it could figure the eyes of your loved one.Once again, a love song was falling into play for Alyria, her usual lyrics. She took a deep breath and glanced down at her blank piece of parchment with her quill ready to scribble down some words, but nothing came that she hadn't already written in a song all ready. Maybe if she thought a bit harder, something may come to her surprise?
But as she was staring thoughtfully at the shimmering ripples of the lakes water, she heard a voice, one that she had heard time and time again, but only for a little bit of time each day. She jerked her head toward the sound to see Gabe. Alyria listened to his words he was telling her. It would be easier to let inspiration find you instead of the other way around. Well that may have been true for him, "But what if it doesnt take you anywhere?" She questioned, "Whats the possibility of not looking for inspiration, therefore not coming to you?" For Alyria, the possibility was likely. She was use to trying to look for inspiration instead of it finding her. It made no sense to her, what if it took forever just for it to find her? Alyria would rather attempt to find inspiration than waiting however long it took for something to come up for her to write about.
But then she thought about the reason he was there talking to her. True they were both in Slytherin, yet they never talked before unless it was your regular Hey or if they were both in a group of friends together discussing issues. Would it be because there wasn't anything better to do that day? Most likely. The only thing that got her was where her other friends were at the time. Why she didnt see them around. Yet Aly shrugged it off once more and proceeded in looking at the water wit her head resting against the tree, waiting for her reply.

Alyria didn't really give a lengthy reply, just a short and not so sweet bleak outlook. There wasn't much emotion put into her words, as if the life wasn't there, like she was some sort of puppet on the end of a set of invisible strings. Granted, Gabe wasn't looking for some cheerleader or obnoxious five year old answer, but a bit of life would have been nice. If this was indeed the way Alyria acted all the time, then it was no wonder that she was having trouble finding some sort of inspiration for her writing or whatever it was she was working on.
"Patience," he replied casually after a short sigh, slipping his hands into his pockets, giving a quick glance up toward the sky and then out across the placid lake. It was calm out, not much to stir up the emotions, but perhaps that was just what brought them all out. Finding peace at the school was hard, what with the studying and social cliques to deal with. Of course, some peace could be found, you just had to look hard enough, however, when you put that much effort into looking, that sort of destroyed the peace when you found it. "Sometimes, a gentle push will net you your goals better than a rough shove," he went on, bending down and picking up a rock from the sandy bank of the lake. He pitched the smooth rock side arm and watched it as it skipped across the water five or six times.
Alyria wasn't exactly someone Gabriel knew so understanding how she worked was a mystery. He opted for the safe approach, a few words here and there, along with a bit of advice for good measure. He didn't like to rush into things blindly, something which only ended up backfiring on you in the end. Gabriel always liked to know just what sort of people he was dealing with and just what sort of situation he was in, so this little chit chat was just part of his usual game.
